Global Fintech-as-a-Service with payments coverage in more than 100 countries and payouts in more than 190, connecting 900+ payment methods under a single API and operating as a principal member of Visa and Mastercard for card acquiring.
## A unicorn fintech built as global financial infrastructure Rapyd was founded in 2016 by Arik Shtilman, Arkady Karpman and Omer Priel with the premise of building what the CEO describes as AWS for fintech: a layer of financial infrastructure consumable via API that allows any company to expand globally without setting up its own banking network. The official headquarters are in London, with an active R&D centre in Tel Aviv. The company raised more than 1.275 billion dollars in total funding and reached unicorn valuations, with a Series E round led by General Catalyst, Stripe, Oak HC/FT, Coatue, Tiger Global, Fidelity and BlackRock among others. In 2024 it declared operational profitability, and in 2026 it launched stablecoin payment capabilities, a relevant piece for iGaming operators handling hybrid fiat-crypto treasury. ## Geographic coverage as structural differentiator The most distinctive proposition of Rapyd is the depth of its geographic coverage. The Collect platform allows accepting payments in more than 100 countries with cards, bank transfers, e-wallets and cash, including more than 500,000 cash collection points. The Disburse platform allows sending payouts in more than 190 countries, and includes support for 40+ countries with Virtual Accounts in 25 currencies. The declared total exceeds 900 payment methods between cards and local APMs. The acquisition of PayU GPO in 2023 for 500 million dollars expanded regulated coverage to 41 countries and added 1,200 additional local payment methods, particularly strengthening presence in LatAm, APAC, the Middle East and Central Europe. ## Complete stack from acquiring to wallet and card issuing The Rapyd product architecture covers the complete cycle. As a Principal Member of Visa and Mastercard, Rapyd operates direct card acquiring in multiple regions without depending on intermediaries. The Wallet module is a ledger system that allows holding funds in custody and moving money between accounts with different currencies and payment methods, a useful piece for operators managing player balances in multiple markets. The Issuing module allows issuing physical or virtual cards for end-customer use. The compliance layer includes integrated KYC, KYB and AML, with growing use of AI for real-time transaction review and faster authorisation. The declared licences include EMI (Electronic Money Institution), MSO, MPI, MLL and TCSP across multiple jurisdictions. ## Explicit positioning in iGaming within high-opportunity industries Rapyd identifies iGaming as one of the priority high-opportunity industries, alongside online trading, creators and marketplaces. The company publishes sector-specific reports, maintains FinExtra thematic webinars on payment strategies in iGaming, and operates with active clients in the segment. The proposition for the iGaming operator combines several elements that few PSPs unite in a single counterpart: direct card acquiring as principal member to avoid technical declines, geographic coverage ranging from Brazil with PIX to India with UPI passing through Thailand and the Philippines, payouts to 190 countries to handle withdrawals to players in any market, integrated compliance layer that unloads the operator from parallel regulatory setup, and stablecoin support for hybrid treasury. For an operator entering multiple geographies simultaneously, Rapyd is one of the primary options in the global shortlist.
