Arena Maipú, integrated within the InterContinental Mendoza complex in Guaymallén, is Mendoza province's second major casino and complements the Regency Casino at Park Hyatt in the formal gaming offer of the wine capital. The InterContinental Mendoza complex is one of the province's highest-category hotels, with first-class facilities including VIP rooms, large-capacity conference halls, international cuisine restaurant and the integrated casino. Arena Maipú has a poker room with periodic tournaments, live shows and gaming tables in a larger-scale environment than the Park Hyatt casino, oriented towards a broader public including both regular players and tourists visiting Mendoza.

The location in Guaymallén, at the southern access to the city and on the route connecting to Francisco Gabrielli International Airport, makes it accessible for transit travelers and Greater Mendoza residents preferring southern access. Mendoza's gaming regulation is handled by the Provincial Institute of Games and Casinos (IPJyC), which grants licenses and supervises the operation of establishments across the province. The casino's most active season coincides with the vendimia, which in March each year brings hundreds of thousands of visitors for the National Grape Harvest Festival, and with summer and autumn when wine tourism reaches its highest peak.
