Casino de Montreal is Canada largest casino and one of the largest in North America, with 48,870 square meters of gaming floor across five levels, more than 2,800 slot machines, 80 card tables, three fine dining restaurants, cabaret and Mise-o-jeu+ sports betting terminals. It operates under Loto-Quebec license, the province state gaming company. Casino de Montreal building is one of the most original of any casino in the world: it occupies the France and Quebec pavilions built for Montreal Universal Exhibition of 1967, known as Expo 67. The pavilions, designed in futurist modernist style, were converted into a casino in 1993 and are Quebec Architectural Heritage. The casino is located on Ile Notre-Dame, an artificial island in the St. Lawrence River built with sediments extracted during Montreal metro construction, in Parc Jean-Drapeau.
