Lucky's Casino Guápiles

Lucky's Casino Guápiles is the only formal casino in Pococí canton and the only casino entertainment option for Costa Rica's northern Caribbean region. Guápiles is the main city in the northern zone of Limón province, in the banana and pineapple corridor of Costa Rica's Caribbean, and the services center for the agricultural communities of Pococí, Guácimo and surroundings. The city is located on Route 32, the highway connecting San José with Puerto Limón and the main export axis for Costa Rica's bananas, pineapples and palmito.

Guápiles and Costa Rica's banana Caribbean

The Pococí and Guápiles zone is the heart of Costa Rica's banana agro-industry, with extensive plantations from multinationals Dole, Chiquita and Del Monte covering tens of thousands of hectares of the Caribbean plain. Route 32 passing through Guápiles is also the gateway to Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the world's highest-biodiversity national parks with more than 6,000 hectares of virtually virgin cloud forest, and the Central Valley tourist train. Limón airport connects the region with San José, and Caribbean tourism from Tortuguero and Puerto Viejo generates an additional traveler flow passing through Guápiles.

The Costa Rican Caribbean's casino

Lucky's Casino Guápiles is part of the Thunderbird Resorts chain and is the only regulated casino for all of Costa Rica's northern Caribbean slope, serving an area of more than 150,000 inhabitants. It operates under Costa Rica's Ministry of Public Security regulation.
