Casino Club Colonial

Casino Club Colonial is one of downtown San José's most historic and recognized casinos, founded in 1982 in the early years of Costa Rica's casino industry and still operating as one of the capital's and international tourism's favorites. Located on Avenida 1 between Calles 9 and 11 in the heart of San José's historic center, Colonial operates in one of the capital's highest cultural and tourist density areas: meters from the Gold Museum, Jade Museum, Parque Morazán and National Museum.

More than 40 years in the heart of San José

With more than four decades of uninterrupted activity, Club Colonial is downtown San José's most traditional casino and an obligatory reference on any capital entertainment map. The casino features more than 125 slot machines in various formats, three electronic roulette terminals and gaming tables with tute, three-card tute, pai gow, craps, blackjack, roulette, canasta and rummy, a selection reflecting the mix of Latin American tradition games and the international casino variants characteristic of Costa Rica. Magnolia Restaurant inside the casino is recognized as one of San José's best.

San José's center and its tourist ecosystem

San José's center concentrates the country's most important museums, the National Theater, Central Market, historic plazas and Barrio Amón with its Victorian and art nouveau architecture now housing galleries, restaurants and boutiques. The Avenida Central and Avenida 1 area where Colonial operates is the city's pedestrian and cultural heart, with a constant flow of locals and international tourists visiting museums during the day and seeking nighttime entertainment in the surroundings. The casino operates from 15:00 to 5:00 and is regulated by Costa Rica's Ministry of Public Security.
