Mohegan Sun is the second largest casino resort on the US East Coast and the country third, with 33,800 square meters of gaming floor across three casinos: Casino of the Earth, Casino of the Sky and Casino of the Wind. With more than 6,500 slot machines including New England only half-cent slot, more than 370 gaming tables with blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette, pai gow and poker, Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook with a 42-meter screen, the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena where the Connecticut Sun WNBA team plays home games, the Wolf Den with free nightly concerts, 1,600 rooms across two towers, Mandara spa, two pools and the 18-hole Mohegan Sun Golf Club. The Mohegan Tribe, which obtained federal recognition in 1994, is the first Indigenous owner of a US professional sports franchise: in 2003 it purchased the Connecticut Sun WNBA team and relocated them to the casino arena.

Mohegan Sun Arena has been consistently ranked among the world ten highest-grossing entertainment venues by Billboard, having presented artists including Taylor Swift, Billy Joel, Beyonce and major global entertainment acts. Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, the tribe operating company, also manages casinos in Pennsylvania, Washington State, New Jersey and South Korea, being one of the world largest international tribal operators.
