Sala Casino Fray Bentos is the Uruguayan state slot hall in the capital of Rio Negro department, with slots and tournaments. It operates under the Directorate General of Casinos of Uruguay. Fray Bentos is the Rio Negro department capital, located on the eastern bank of the Uruguay River across from the Argentine city of Gualeguaychu in Entre Rios province, connected by General San Martin International Bridge. The city is world-famous as the origin of Liebig meat extract: the Liebig Extract of Meat Company installed its plant in Fray Bentos in 1865 and made the city the world largest processed meat exporter for almost a century, being the origin of the Oxo cube and canned meat that fed European armies in both world wars. The Fray Bentos factory is today the Industrial Revolution Museum, declared UNESCO World Heritage in 2015.

Angosto del Queguay, the Liebig factory and Fray Bentos Port are the three industrial heritage milestones of the Rio Negro capital. The Liebig factory, rebranded as Anglo in 1924 and closed in 1979, was for almost a century the world largest exporting meatpacking plant: in its best year, 1923, it processed more than 2 million animals and exported to more than 30 countries. UNESCO declared it World Heritage in 2015 as one of the world best-preserved examples of 19th-20th century industrial architecture. UPM cellulose plant in Fray Bentos, inaugurated in 2007 after the famous diplomatic crisis between Uruguay and Argentina over its construction on the Uruguay River, is today the world largest cellulose plant and Uruguay largest individual exporter.
