Sala Casino Mercedes is the Uruguayan state slot hall in the capital of Soriano department and the city known as the City of Birds for the diversity of birds on the Negro River, with slots and tournaments. Mercedes International Folklore Festival, held in January, is one of Uruguay interior highest-attendance folk music events.
