Antonio Salord – Sales Manager, Playtech
Before joining Playtech, Antonio gained experience across several areas of the industry: he was Product Manager at Apuesta Total, where he drove innovation in sports betting and casino offerings; he held commercial leadership positions at Stanleybet Group and Magellan Robotech, strengthening his regional profile; and he also collaborated as a consultant at Konek Solutions, supporting companies with outsourcing services and strategic advisory.
His career began in the hospitality sector, working for Marriott International in Barcelona — an experience that gave him a strong foundation in customer service and relationship management, skills he later successfully applied to the gaming world.
Passionate about sports and technology, Antonio has positioned himself as a professional with a global vision and a local focus, capable of bridging the gap between the needs of Latin American operators and the technological innovation that defines the future of iGaming.

Professional Journey
What did you dream of becoming as a child before entering this industry?
I dreamed of becoming a tennis player.
What was your first paid job?
I worked at an ice cream shop when I was 17.
And your first job in the betting/gaming world?
At a company that sold casino products — everything from machines to chips and cards for gaming tables.
What do you enjoy most about this industry?
The people who make up this industry and the great atmosphere that exists within it.
What current trends will shape the future of betting over the next 5 years?
Artificial Intelligence is definitely transforming the industry — the way people bet and the products that surround the experience.
How do you see the relationship between responsible gaming and sustainable market growth?
Responsible gaming must be essential in every market. We must protect users and give them tools to see gaming as a form of entertainment. If we work to improve responsible gaming, markets will continue to grow sustainably.
What concerns you most about gambling addiction?
That it affects the most vulnerable — especially minors.
What skills do you consider essential for a leader in this industry?
Understanding and managing your own emotions — and those of others — is crucial to resolving conflicts and building strong relationships. Also, inspiring and motivating your team while fostering a collaborative and trusting environment that enhances both individual and group talent.
What was the hardest decision you’ve made in your career, and what did you learn from it?
Leaving my country to look for new opportunities and challenges. I learned that to grow, we must step out of our comfort zone and not be afraid of change, as it’s part of both career and personal evolution.
What’s the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
That health and family must always come before any job — that’s non-negotiable.

Teamwork is essential to achieving goals.
