Diego Verano – Director of Business Development LatAm, eeze
He began his career in the operational side of the industry, holding responsibility roles in companies such as Circus City, Crystal Palace, and Paldyp Entertainment, where he managed operations, processes, and teams in highly competitive environments. This foundation gave him deep insight into player behavior, day-to-day challenges on the gaming floor, and the commercial dynamics of land-based operations.
As online gaming grew across the region, Diego transitioned into the digital environment, working at Betzar Entertainment and later at Game Media Works, gaining experience in content, marketing, and products for iGaming platforms. He then joined Casino Technology (now CT Gaming) as Regional Product Manager Online, contributing to digital expansion and the adaptation of products to the Latin American market.
In 2022, he took on the role of Head of Business Development LATAM at CT Interactive, leading commercial growth across multiple countries, strengthening partnerships, and developing strategic opportunities with online operators in the region. In 2025, he began a new chapter as Director of Business Development LatAm at Eeze, focusing on technological solutions and products designed for an increasingly demanding and competitive market.
Diego’s career combines operational experience, product knowledge, and a strong commercial orientation — qualities that have made him a professional with a complete understanding of the iGaming value chain.
We spoke with Diego Verano to learn more about his background, his view of the future of iGaming, and of course, the human side behind the executive, in a new edition of More than a Game.
Professional Journey
What did you dream of becoming as a child before entering this industry?
I dreamed of becoming a football player.
What was your first paid job?
At 18, I worked as a cashier in a restaurant.
And your first job in the gambling/betting world?
After 3 months as a cashier, I became an Internal Casino Auditor.
What do you enjoy most about this industry?
Connecting with people.
Which current trends will shape the future of betting in the next 5 years?
AI is undoubtedly the defining trend, always as a complement to the human element.
How do you view the relationship between responsible gaming and sustainable market growth?
It’s essential that players feel safe. By creating secure environments — from payment methods to self-limitation tools — the market will continue to grow.
What concerns you most about problem gambling?
Problem gambling is a disease where the game stops being entertainment. Casinos must support efforts together with governmental entities, and this is only possible within a regulated environment.
Which skills do you consider essential for a leader in this industry?
As in any industry, a leader must not only guide the team but also be part of it and push together. This is an entertainment industry, and maintaining a “casual” work environment is key.
What was the toughest decision you’ve made in your career, and what did you learn from it?
When I was in a stable position with no projection for growth, I decided to leave my comfort zone and pursue a more challenging path. Stability isn’t everything — if you’re hungry to grow, you need to take control and seek change.
What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
It came from the person who is now my wife: evaluate team members not only as workers but as human beings above all.
If you had to summarize your leadership philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?
Value the person first, the employee second.
