Gabriel Katz – Head of Sales Brazil, Evolution

He is currently Head of Sales Brazil at Evolution, after having previously held the positions of Senior Sales Manager LATAM and Sr. Sales Manager Brazil within the same company, strengthening the presence of one of the world's most influential providers in the region. His role focuses on understanding what operators need, creating valuable relationships and anticipating the trends of a constantly evolving market.

Before his arrival in iGaming, Gabriel held key positions at Eightroom, managing accounts for international clients such as Betfair, Betway, Pinnacle and Bodog; at Nuevocentro Shopping, leading marketing and loyalty strategies; and as director of Bonus Publicidad, an agency where he worked with global brands such as Bayer, Sanofi Aventis and Rosen. His experience also includes media, with a stint as an NBA commentator on Monte Carlo TV, and a period at the agency JWT as a creative copywriter.

With a profile that combines strategic vision, advertising creativity and commercial capability, Gabriel Katz represents a new generation of executives who make Latin American iGaming a vibrant, innovative and constantly expanding space.

We spoke with Gabriel Katz to learn a little more about his current work, his career and his more human side on More than a Game!

Professional Career

What did you dream of becoming as a child before entering this industry?

As a child, a detective; later, an advertiser.

What was your first paid job?

As a waiter, in the U.S.

And your first job in the world of betting/gambling?

As an account manager at Eightroom.

What do you enjoy most about this industry?

Without a doubt, the people who work in it and the good vibe among colleagues. And the number of opportunities it offers and enables.

Which current trends will shape the future of betting in the next 5 years?

AI is coming in full force, it's adapt or die. And I believe content personalization will also be important.

How do you see the relationship between responsible gambling and the sustainable growth of the market?

It is key as an industry to convey the message that gambling is entertainment and not a way for players to make a living. The more of us who understand this, the better for everyone!

What worries you most about gambling addiction?

I am particularly concerned about minors and keeping them away from gambling.

What skills do you consider essential for a leader in this industry?

First, understanding the gaming ecosystem. Then, being very receptive and open to continuously learning because it is a very dynamic industry. And, finally, knowing how to relate to and surround yourself with valuable people.

What was the toughest decision you made in your career and what did you learn from it?

Leaving my comfort zone. I had to do it several times, like when I started working at Evolution without knowledge of the casino vertical. I'm happy I did.

What is the best professional advice you have received?

Be yourself and be professional.

If you had to sum up your leadership philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?

A great leader knows how to build bridges and tear down walls.

If you hadn't worked in this industry, what other profession would you have liked to pursue?

In the sports/entertainment industry. As a kid I wanted to work in the NBA.
