Casino Magic will invest 15 million in a hotel in Neuquén
Casino Magic Neuquén presented the project to build a new four-star, four-story hotel in the provincial capital, as part of a comprehensive plan that will require an investment of 15 million dollars. This plan includes both the expansion of the complex's hotel capacity, which will reach 103 rooms, and the technical and structural renovation of the gaming hall. The announcement was made during a meeting between company executives, authorities from the Neuquén Provincial Institute of Gambling and Lotteries, led by its president Raúl Bettiga, and officials from the provincial Treasury, Government, and Tourism departments.
The initiative falls within the new conditions established by the Government of Neuquén for casino concessions, which came into effect in May through a provincial decree that made extensions conditional on compliance with tourism and technological investments. Among the modifications, the exploitation fee was raised from 15 to 17.5 percent, applicable to both land-based and online gaming, with a calculation basis that is now determined by the previous month's revenue. For Casino Magic, the gross income tax rate increased from 2 to 3 percent, with the incorporation of stamp duty, and concessionaires had to commit to investments linked to provincial tourism development as consideration for accessing the contractual extension.
In addition to the new hotel, the company reported that it has already carried out renovation work in various areas of the hall, covering ceilings, walls, carpets, lighting, slot machines, and gaming tables, along with gastronomic areas, rest areas, a smoking section, a poker room, and an event hall. The regulatory framework of the provincial institute also extended to other concessionaires with projects in inland Neuquén, including the development of an apart-hotel of more than one thousand square meters with twelve rooms in Chos Malal, with an estimated investment of almost 2.4 million dollars, and the restoration of the Alfa hotel in Cutral Co to elevate its category to three stars with forty-two rooms, with an outlay exceeding 2.5 million dollars.
