The IPLyC of Misiones projects a 36% growth for 2025
The Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) of Misiones, the regulatory body for gambling in the Argentine province, presented its annual management report for 2025 before the Budget Commission of the Chamber of Representatives. According to Héctor Rojas Decut, president of the IPLyC, a growth of 36% compared to 2024 is projected, which will allow contributing ARS 6.466 billion to the 2026 budget. These funds will be distributed in accordance with the provisions established in the law that created the organization.
Rojas Decut explained that, in addition to the profits generated by gambling, the IPLyC promotes the provincial economy through the payment of prizes to bettors, commissions to official agencies, salaries, social contributions, contracts with local suppliers, and the execution of social programs.
For the latter, an investment exceeding ARS 1.9 billion is planned for 2025. The head of the IPLyC highlighted that the work for the coming year will focus on three fundamental strategic axes: strengthening social work through programs that have already reached 65 municipalities; active support for the sales network, providing more tools to improve and expand agencies; and the fight against unauthorized online gambling.
In this regard, he emphasized the coordinated work with the Cybercrime Prosecutor’s Office of Misiones to deploy concrete actions aimed at protecting young people from the risks associated with illegal gambling. He also reported that prevention and awareness efforts regarding the use of illegal betting platforms have been intensified. The IPLyC Responsible Gambling team continues to implement a policy aimed at promoting healthy gambling, traveling across the province with courses and talks directed at young people, parents, and teachers, with the goal of providing tools to detect risk situations and prevent addictions.
Within the framework of the Responsible Gambling program, this year the second edition of the short film contest “Reflections in Chance” was held, featuring 12 productions by students from Posadas, Garupá, and Fachinal. The shorts address the emotional, social, and economic impacts that online gambling can have on adolescents, and highlight the importance of professional help as well as family and school support to tackle the issue.
On the other hand, Rojas Decut referred to the joint work with other state institutions to provide comprehensive care to the most vulnerable sectors. He highlighted the “Better Sight” program, which plans to visit 45 municipalities offering free ophthalmological care, thus completing the 60 municipalities planned since the initiative began in 2024. Additionally, he celebrated the continuation of programs such as “Happy Kids,” “Mate with the Grandparents,” and “We Are With You,” which in the first half of 2025 benefited more than 25,000 people in 65 municipalities. “Being alongside every neighbor, supporting them and providing concrete solutions is the spirit that guides the daily work of the entire IPLyC team.
In the face of a national context of state downsizing, sustaining and strengthening our social role is not only a necessity but a true and enormous challenge,” concluded Rojas Decut.
