Online gambling in Mendoza continues to grow with historic records
The province of Mendoza is experiencing an unprecedented transformation in its gaming industry. During the first four months of 2026, online betting platforms mobilized ARS 7.830 billion, more than double the amount recorded in the same period of the previous year. This jump from ARS 3.831 billion to figures close to 8 billion represents a growth of 104.4 percent, consolidating the digital migration trend that characterizes the Latin American market.
Although Mendoza's physical casino halls maintain a higher total volume, with ARS 34.360 billion wagered in the first quarter, their expansion rate is significantly lower. Traditional casinos grew by only 26.4 percent year-on-year, equivalent to an additional ARS 7.100 billion. The difference in growth speed is striking: while digital betting almost doubled, in-person activity advanced at less than a quarter of that pace.
In the online betting segment, two operators clearly dominate the Mendoza market. BetWarrior leads with ARS 3.224 billion wagered and a market share of 41.2 percent, also achieving an increase of 51.3 percent compared to 2025. Betano, for its part, experienced exponential growth, going from a practically non-existent presence in 2025 to capturing ARS 2.665 billion in 2026, reaching 34 percent of the market. Together, both platforms account for more than 75 percent of all provincial online activity.
The physical casino market also shows reconfigured dynamics. In the live gaming category, Casino Arena Maipú displaced Casino Cosmo from its historical leadership, consolidating itself as the dominant venue with ARS 1.642 billion wagered. Dreams Plaza showed the highest percentage growth in the segment, climbing from ARS 435 million to ARS 1.047 billion, a jump of over 140 percent. Slot machines, the main source of revenue for the in-person channel, generated ARS 28.518 billion, an increase of 27 percent compared to the previous period.
The provincial government recognizes this transformation as part of a broader structural reality of the gaming business in the region. The migration to digital platforms reflects profound changes in player preferences, technological accessibility, and business models that prevail throughout Latin America. This dynamic poses new regulatory and fiscal challenges for provincial governments, which must balance tax collection with robust player protection measures and the prevention of problem gambling.
