Santa Cruz Lottery defended Deporbingo social reach to Deputies
The president of the Lottery for Social Action Works of Santa Cruz, Claudia Pavez, led a presentation before the Finance and Budget Committee of the provincial Chamber of Deputies to detail the scope of Deporbingo Santacruceño. The presentation took place within the framework of the legislative analysis of an initiative with similar characteristics and allowed the state lottery to show how it has been working on a tool designed to financially support clubs and non-profit organizations.
A tool for clubs and non-profit organizations
Deporbingo was presented by LOAS in April as a modality designed to generate genuine, regularized, and state-controlled funding for organizations that often fall outside the scope of traditional gaming tools. The central idea is that sports clubs, development associations, and community organizations can access a stable, orderly source of income within a clear regulatory framework, instead of relying on informal raffles or activities with vague legal boundaries.
The presentation in the lower house included technical, administrative, and operational information about the modality. Along with Pavez, legal advisor Mariángeles Igor, internal auditor Sebastián Santillán, trustee Flavia Cosentino, and provincial director of Responsible Gambling and Social Responsibility, Melisa Márquez, participated. The work agenda derived from the meeting includes joint follow-up with provincial legislators to evaluate the evolution of Deporbingo once its first operational phase is completed.
Dialogue between the lottery and the legislature
The LOAS presentation provides relevant institutional data. Argentine provincial lotteries usually operate with autonomy and resistance to parliamentary scrutiny, and the voluntary presentation by the Santa Cruz body marks a movement in the opposite direction, towards a scheme of greater transparency before the representatives of the people. The decision to explain the fundamentals of a product, its regulations, and its internal controls opens a channel for dialogue that goes beyond the specific case of Deporbingo.
This precedent can also be read as a response to legislative projects that seek to regulate or limit new gaming modalities in the province.
