Santa Fe officially grants four online betting platform licenses
The province of Santa Fe has completed its bidding process to incorporate authorized operators into the regulated online sports betting market. The Social Assistance Fund (CAS) formalized the award of four licenses after evaluating the final technical reports corresponding to National and International Public Tender number 104/25. This measure represents a significant milestone in the implementation of the provincial regulatory framework, which seeks to formalize and control digital betting activity.
The four authorized operators that will deploy their platforms in Santa Fe territory are Casino Puerto Santa Fe, which will operate under the bplay brand; Casino de Rosario, through City Center Online; the alliance formed by Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo and Correón, which will offer services under the BetWarrior platform; and Slots Machines, with the Jugadón brand. This diversity of actors reflects a provincial strategy aimed at combining the presence of consolidated local operators with alliances of national and international scale companies.
Provincial regulations establish a maximum period of 180 days for each awarded operator to implement its technological infrastructure and begin operations. During this period, the winners must comply with technical requirements for security, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering, and player protection. The provincial administration will supervise each implementation to ensure that the systems operate in accordance with the requirements of the award contract.
The provincial tax scheme establishes that operators must pay a monthly fee ranging between 15 and 16 percent of the profitability obtained from bets placed. These revenues, managed by the Social Assistance Fund, will be used to strengthen assistance programs and social policies in the province. Simultaneously, the CAS approved the catalogs of sports events on which bets can be offered, maintaining permanent supervisory powers.
The regulation of online betting in Santa Fe is part of a broader trend in Argentina and Latin America. Provinces such as Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Mendoza have advanced with their own regulatory frameworks, creating formal spaces for authorized operators while combating the operation of illegal platforms. The Santa Fe model seeks to capture fiscal profitability from the digital market without sacrificing high standards of control and protection, a common challenge for all jurisdictions facing the expansion of online betting.
