Santa Fe postpones online sports betting tender to March 17
The Government of the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, has rescheduled the bid opening ceremony for the operation of the system in its territory. The process, which is international in scope, will grant licenses for up to 12 years and establishes a minimum fee of 15% on gross revenue.
The province of Santa Fe has decided to extend the timeline for its anticipated online sports betting tender. According to authorities, the official bid opening ceremony will now take place on March 17th at 12:00 local time, delaying the original date that was scheduled for the beginning of that month.
Interested companies will have until March 16th to submit their technical and economic proposals to the Undersecretariat of Contracting and Asset Management at the Civic Center of the provincial capital.
Concession details and permitted modalities
The tender process, governed by Public Tender N°104/2025, seeks to select operators who will act under the supervision of the Lotería de Santa Fe. Key contract points include:
- Operating term: Licenses will have a duration of 10 years, with a possible extension of two additional years at the discretion of the Executive Power.
- Sports included: Betting will be allowed on football, tennis, basketball, rugby, boxing, motorsports, and martial arts, among others.
- Exclusions: The process does not cover traditional casino games or lotteries, which maintain their current regulations.
- Fee and revenue: Licensees must pay a monthly fee that cannot be less than 15% of the gross gaming revenue (GGR).
A multi-operator model
Unlike other processes, Santa Fe's scheme establishes that a single operator will not be selected. On the contrary, the Caja de Asistencia Social will grant as many licenses as bids are deemed suitable, provided that interested parties rigorously comply with the technical, legal, and economic standards set forth in the bidding documents.
This postponement provides additional time for national and international companies to finalize their proposals in a market considered strategic for the development of iGaming in the interior of Argentina.
