Change of command in Bolivia in the management of the national lottery
Jaime Marcelo Schuab Sebastián was sworn in by the Minister of Health. He arrives with two decades of international experience in finance and strategic planning, replacing Wilber Laura Quispe in an orderly transition.
The National Lottery of Charity and Health (Lonabol) begins a new administrative era. In an official ceremony led by the Minister of Health and Sports, Marcela Flores Zambrana, the appointment of Jaime Marcelo Schuab Sebastián as the new executive director of the institution was formalized.
The distinctive aspect of this appointment lies in the technical profile of the chosen candidate. Schuab Sebastián is no novice in management; he has more than 20 years of experience in academic organizations and the private sector, with experience both in Latin America and the United States. His specialization in strategic planning, corporate finance, and new market development suggests that the government seeks to make a qualitative leap in the commercial and operational efficiency of the state lottery.
Smooth transition
The assumption took place in a climate of institutional cooperation. The outgoing director, Wilber R. Laura Quispe, presented a detailed final report of his administration and facilitated the handover, ensuring the continuity of internal processes. Lonabol highlighted that the priority of both parties was to guarantee stability so as not to interrupt services.
Sell hope, generate resources
During the ceremony, Minister Flores Zambrana set the tone regarding the ultimate goal of the fundraising: to transform the game into direct social aid. "His management will be very important because it will help us alleviate the pain of many people and contribute to their recovery," the official stated.
For his part, the newly appointed executive summarized his vision of the business with a phrase that connects the product with its charitable purpose: "Every time a person participates in a lottery game, they are not only buying hope for themselves, but they turn that hope into hope for another family." Schuab’s challenge now will be to modernize that machinery of hope to maximize contributions to the State.
