ABPred: Brazilian Predictive Markets Association for Operators

The landscape of digital assets and data intelligence in Brazil has taken a fundamental step towards institutional maturity. On April 20, 2026, six pioneering companies in the sector formally announced the creation of the Associação Brasileira de Mercados Preditivos (ABPred). This organization, comprising VoxFi, Futuriza, Eu Já Sabia, i9 Mkt Tech, Mercado Prévio, and Prévias, was founded with the mission of representing and consolidating a segment that has experienced remarkable expansion since the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) authorized this type of operation in February 2025.

ABPred's proposal is not limited solely to guild representation; it also seeks to establish a standard of transparency and legal certainty in the use of binary contracts. Its founders have defined a roadmap that includes self-regulation mechanisms and strict ethical norms, with the aim of fostering a reliable environment for both investors and regulators. Felipe Hanszmann, director of VoxFi, and Roger Amarante, from Futuriza, emphasized that the association's role is to ensure that these markets are recognized as legitimate intelligence tools for decision-making, protecting their technical nature within the Brazilian legal framework.

The rise of binary contracts as an analytical tool

The functioning of this market is based on a binary contract modality where users operate on probabilities applied to various scenarios, from political and sports events to movements in financial assets. In practice, participants choose between "yes" or "no" options regarding the behavior of the Ibovespa index, interest rates, or dollar fluctuations. This structure allows the uncertainty of markets to be transformed into actionable data, positioning predictions as an innovative resource for deep economic analysis.

The relevance of this sector is reflected in the quality of the players already participating in the forecasting sphere. Major institutions such as the B3 stock exchange, BTG Pactual bank, and XP Investimentos, the latter in partnership with global giant Kalshi, are already part of the ecosystem seeking greater regulatory solidity. Internationally, benchmarks like Polymarket have paved the way, although ABPred's challenge will be to harmonize these global trends with the specificities of Brazilian national legislation to ensure responsible and safe commercialization.

Towards a solid legal framework for financial innovation

With prior support from the CVM, the launch of ABPred comes at the right time to lead the technological development of local platforms. The association aims for the recognition of these assets not only to drive innovation but also to protect users' economy through the application of high-quality technical standards. By unifying the voices of the main operators, the sector is preparing for a more fluid dialogue with authorities, ensuring that the prediction market in Brazil becomes a benchmark for transparency and efficiency in the region.
