Betting house sponsorships hit record highs in Brazilian football

The link between betting companies and Brazilian football is at its strongest moment. According to a survey conducted by Jambo Sport Business for g1, sports betting operators invested R$1.1 billion (US$205.3 million) in sponsorships for Serie A clubs during 2025, more than doubling the R$496 million (US$91.2 million) recorded in 2023. The growth in just two years reaches 125 percent and confirms the central role of the sector in the sports economy.

The study points out that 18 of the 20 first division teams have a betting company as their main sponsor. The remaining two, Mirassol and Red Bull Bragantino, maintain secondary agreements with the firms 7K and Betfast. The sector’s predominance reflects the search for visibility in a hypercompetitive market where, according to specialists, platforms operate with very similar products and rely on sports sponsorship as their main differentiator.

An analyst consulted explains this dynamic clearly: betting companies function like a commodity. What changes are factors such as the contribution to the club, promotions, or speed of payments. In this scenario, partnering with a high-impact team becomes a key tool to attract players. The expectation for 2026 is that the values will continue to grow, with several clubs already renegotiating contracts.

Flamengo leads the list with the largest deal in history

The highest sponsorship in the country belongs to Flamengo. The contract signed with Betano in August could exceed R$895 million (US$163 million) by 2028. The club will receive R$220 million (US$40 million) per year for professional football, along with additional contributions for Olympic sports, brand presence on LED panels, VIP boxes, and FlamengoTV. With bonuses for jersey sales and user acquisition, the total amount could reach R$932.5 million (US$169 million).

To put the leap into perspective, in 2023 Mengão had received only R$85 million (US$15.6 million) from Pixbet.

Other clubs are also undergoing significant movements. Grêmio terminated its agreement with Alfa and signed a temporary contract with Energia Bet. Corinthians, which receives R$103 million (US$19 million) per year from Esportes da Sorte, seeks to increase the amount by between 60 and 100 percent. Cruzeiro confirmed that Betnacional will be its main sponsor from January 2026, maintaining the current value with Betfair, since both brands belong to the same group.

A trend that will continue to grow

The prominence of betting companies in Brazilian football seems far from reaching its ceiling. With increasingly competitive contracts and a market that continues to expand following sector regulation, clubs expect 2026 to mark a new record in sponsorship revenue.

Specialists agree that this type of agreement has consolidated as a key piece of sports financing and as a strategic tool for operators competing for visibility and brand identification in one of the most influential football markets in the world.
