Caixa changes the official lottery draw dates
The betting dynamics of Brazilians are undergoing an update starting this weekend. Caixa Econômica Federal announced a calendar change for its lottery draws, whereby regular contests traditionally held on Saturday nights will now occupy a new slot on the agenda: Sunday mornings. From now on, these draws will always take place at 11 AM, directly from the Espaço da Sorte, in the city of São Paulo.
The date change directly affects five very popular modalities: Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotofácil, Timemania, and Dia de Sorte. For those who follow the games from Monday to Friday, there is no cause for concern, as the usual weekday schedule remains unchanged. These contests continue in the evening, generally at 9 PM, with live broadcasts on the financial institution's official channels.
With the new schedule, bettors must pay attention to the deadlines for registering their plays. Those who wish to compete for Sunday's prizes will have to validate their bets by 10 PM on Saturday. There is, however, a small advantage for bolões (syndicates) made through the electronic system, as these virtual collective games can be purchased with a much tighter time margin, available until 10:45 AM on Sunday, just fifteen minutes before the draw begins.
Despite this reorganization of the schedule, the essence of the games remains the same. Caixa guaranteed that the main characteristics of the products were not affected. The mechanics for registering bets, the prices of each ticket, the mathematical probabilities of winning, and the structure for distributing millionaire prizes remain unchanged. Interested parties can now consult the updated official schedule directly on the Loterias Caixa website.
