SBC Summit Rio: Building Elite Brands in Brazil - Key Insights

The event, which will take place from March 3 to 5, will feature the participation of former executives from global brands and CONAR leaders. The focus will be on high-performance culture, the creator economy, and compliance with new advertising regulations.

The city of Rio de Janeiro is preparing to host a historic edition of the SBC Summit Rio, a gathering that this year transcends the sector’s borders to integrate lessons from global brands into the heart of the gaming industry. The event, which will bring together 15,000 participants, will place special emphasis on how operators can build sustainable and culturally relevant brands in a newly regulated Brazil.

Lessons from a giant: Nike’s strategic framework

One of the most anticipated moments on Wednesday, March 4 will be the opening of the Leadership stage led by Chris Kypriotis, former CEO of Nike Brazil. Under his leadership, the "Swoosh" brand surpassed USD 1 billion in revenue in the country for the first time, leading strategy in major events such as the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.

Kypriotis will deliver the keynote "Inside the high-performance culture," where he will share a strategic framework for iGaming brands to move beyond product-centered marketing and achieve an authentic connection with Brazilian identity. Additionally, he will conduct a practical workshop on how to scale corporate cultures in highly competitive and exposed environments.

The era of influencers and CONAR’s rigor

The creator economy will have a central place on the agenda, understanding that in Brazil user trust often passes through digital figures. On Wednesday afternoon, renowned streamer Aruan Felix, who has over 7 million followers, will lead a panel on how to structure ethical and strategic partnerships between operators and influencers to strengthen the cultural relevance of brands.

However, creativity will not go alone; it will be accompanied by regulation. On Thursday, March 5, experts from Meta, CONAR (National Council for Advertising Self-Regulation), and the agency Propane will debate in the panel "Inside the new marketing rules in Brazil." This session will detail what is allowed and what is not on digital platforms, aiming for campaigns that are impactful but responsible and compliant with current law.

A global-scale business hub

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC, noted that operators today have a unique opportunity to build something relevant in Brazil, but that this requires cultural sensitivity and responsibility. Therefore, SBC Summit Rio will feature:

The event offers various access modalities, including free VIP tickets for operators and affiliates (subject to approval), which allow full access to conferences, networking events, and the food festival included in the fair.
