The Superintendence of Gaming Casinos has reported that the 25 casinos operating in Chile generated a total of 63.775 billion Chilean pesos, some 71.8 million dollars, in taxes during the first four months of 2026. The figure includes the specific gaming tax, the VAT applied to the activity and the entry tax to the halls.
Of that total, 27.889 billion pesos, some 31.4 million dollars, corresponded to the specific gaming tax, whose resources are distributed equally between the regional governments and the municipalities where the casinos operate to fund development works. The VAT tied to the activity reached 26.896 billion pesos, some 30.3 million dollars, and the entry tax added 8.989 billion, close to 10.1 million dollars, both allocated to the Nation's general funds.
In terms of activity, the casinos recorded gross gaming revenue of 181.672 billion pesos, some 204.5 million dollars, between January and April. Of the total, 168.453 billion, close to 189.6 million dollars, were generated by the 22 casinos authorised under law 19995, while the three municipal casinos contributed 13.218 billion, some 14.1 million dollars.
During the first four months of the year, 1,965,338 visits were counted, of which 1,840,353 corresponded to the casinos regulated by law 19995 and 124,985 to the municipal ones. Considering the revenue and the number of attendees recorded by the casinos authorised under those rules, the average spend per visit stood at 91,533 pesos, some 103 dollars, in the period.
