Chilean casinos generate $51 million in revenue during February
The casino industry in Chile maintains a solid pace of operation according to the latest data from the Superintendency of Gaming Casinos (SCJ). During February 2026, the 25 venues operating in the country generated gross revenues of 44.259 billion pesos, equivalent to approximately 51.3 million dollars. Although this figure represents a slight decrease compared to the 53.4 million dollars recorded in January, the overall performance of the sector continues to show remarkable robustness in the national entertainment ecosystem.
The benefit for local communities is one of the most prominent points of the monthly statistical report. Casino activity generated a total of 6.797 billion pesos in specific gaming taxes during the period. These resources are strategically important for territorial development, as they are distributed equally among regional governments and the municipalities where the complexes are located. This collection model ensures that a significant portion of gambling profits is directly transformed into funding for infrastructure works and social development projects in the areas of influence of each venue.
Regarding public traffic, Chilean casinos received a total of 506,641 visits during the second month of the year. Analyzing the relationship between total revenues and the number of attendees, the average spending per visit was 86,400 pesos, approximately 100 dollars. This indicator shows a slight moderation compared to the 101 dollars of average spending recorded in January, possibly reflecting the natural adjustment in leisure budgets after the most intense summer holiday period.
The SCJ report also allows distinguishing the contribution of the different management models currently coexisting in the country. The 22 casinos operating under the framework of Law N°19.995 led the collection with 41.019 billion pesos. On the other hand, the three venues that still operate under municipal concessions in the cities of Iquique, Puerto Varas, and Puerto Natales added another 3.240 billion pesos to the total figure. This coexistence of legal regimes remains a distinctive feature of the Chilean market as the transition towards a completely unified regulation under the standards of the current law progresses.
