Jugabet leads the Chilean online betting market in 1H 2025
A study conducted by Apuesta Legal Chile, using information from SimilarWeb, reveals that Jugabet widely led the online betting market in Chile during the first half of 2025. Together, the three main platforms —Jugabet, Coolbet Chile, and Betano— concentrated more than 70% of the sector's web traffic between January and June.
During the second quarter of the year, Jugabet recorded approximately 19.1 million visits, followed by Coolbet Chile with 16.4 million, while Betano reached 16.2 million. In the first quarter, Jugabet had already positioned itself at the forefront with 17.7 million visits, maintaining a competitive advantage over its main rivals.
The report highlights that the key to the success of Jugabet and Coolbet lies in their strong connection with the local sports culture. Jugabet has consolidated a dominant presence through sponsorship of the two most popular clubs in the country, Colo-Colo and Universidad de Chile, and through alliances with national idols such as Marcelo Salas and Iván Zamorano.
Meanwhile, Coolbet has diversified its strategy with sponsorships in the Second Division football and national basketball, in addition to operating under the “.cl” domain and offering aggressive promotions tailored to the Chilean audience, with welcome bonuses of up to 275% and activations linked to the matches of the sponsored teams.
Meanwhile, global operators such as Betano, Bet365, or Stake face greater challenges in capturing the local audience. Their weaker connection with Chilean sports and cultural identity limits their growth, in an environment where user preferences value authenticity and closeness to national sports.
In a market still without official regulation, the success of Jugabet and Coolbet demonstrates that the brands that manage to “speak and cheer like Chileans” will be the ones that best capitalize on the sector’s growth. Future competitions will depend on the operators’ ability to invest in local sponsorships, adapt their proposals to the Chilean user, and build a genuine emotional relationship with the audience.
