Boyacá Lottery's Colombian sales exceed USD 44M, líder

The close of the 2025 fiscal year has marked a historic balance for Lotería de Boyacá, positioning it as one of the most solid pillars within the games of chance sector in Colombia. During the official accountability event, the entity's manager, Diego Fabián Hernández, presented a management characterized by financial growth, digital transformation, and a deep social commitment. The results reflect sales exceeding 166.388 billion pesos (USD 44.8 million), representing a 5.76 percent increase compared to the previous year and significantly surpassing the initial target of 160 billion pesos (USD 43 million) set by the administration.

This exceptional performance not only strengthens the lottery's internal structure but also has a direct impact on the well-being of the population. The entity reported transfers to the health system totaling over 50 billion pesos (USD 13.5 million), fulfilling its mission as a vital source of funding for public services. Furthermore, Lotería de Boyacá was recognized as the company that awarded the most prizes nationwide in 2025, distributing over 60 billion pesos among its winners, a figure that reinforces public trust in the transparency and generosity of its draws.

Territory strategy and citizen proximity

One of the keys to commercial success during this period was the shift in commercial management focus, prioritizing direct contact in municipalities over administrative office work. Hernández highlighted that the sale of physical tickets in the department of Boyacá grew by almost 2 percent thanks to constant travel through the region's various localities. This proximity strategy allowed the entity to interact firsthand with buyers and sellers, adapting its offerings to the real needs of each territory and strengthening a sense of belonging to the brand.

In line with this human-centric vision, the lottery placed special emphasis on professionalizing its sales force. Through an agreement with SENA, training and recognition programs have been promoted for lottery vendors, whom the manager described as the heart of the institution. This support for human capital aims not only to improve the commercial skills of vendors but also to dignify their daily work, ensuring that the entity's growth translates into a better quality of life for those who are part of its distribution chain.

Digital innovation and solidity against major prizes

The year 2025 also represented a significant technological leap for the entity. The comprehensive renovation of its website and the implementation of a chatbot, which already has over 20,000 active users, have allowed the lottery to adapt to the new dynamics of digital consumption. These tools have been fundamental in attracting a younger audience and facilitating online sales, diversifying access channels and modernizing the image of a long-standing institution.

From a financial perspective, Lotería de Boyacá demonstrated remarkable resilience. Despite the jackpot being awarded twice during the year, specifically in the January and April draws, the entity managed to maintain a solid technical reserve. This responsible management of resources allowed it to absorb the impact of large prize payouts without compromising economic stability or mandatory health transfers.

Finally, the administration provided details about the future of Hotel Hunza, whose management has returned to the lottery's hands. It is expected that during the second half of 2026, the establishment will be under a concession model, thus completing an asset optimization strategy that seeks to generate new sources of income and boost the department's tourism and commercial development.
