Coljuegos: $1B+ healthcare transfers since 2022 historic milestone
Within the framework of the 10th Ibero-American Gaming Summit held in Bogotá, the president of Coljuegos, Marco Emilio Hincapié, presented a report that consolidates the current management as the most productive in the entity's history. Since 2022, the organization has transferred a total of 4.01 trillion Colombian pesos to the subsidized health regime, a figure equivalent to approximately 1.074 billion dollars. This amount represents 44.46 percent of all resources generated by the industry since the creation of Coljuegos in 2012, demonstrating accelerated growth in the sector's social contribution under the current national administration.
During his speech to regulators from various countries such as Peru, Paraguay, Brazil, and Portugal, Hincapié highlighted that the games of chance sector is experiencing its best financial period. Statistics from the first part of 2026 support this assertion, with accumulated revenue between January and May already reaching 532.573 billion pesos. With these indicators, the entity projects to close the year once again surpassing its own collection records, which guarantees greater availability of funds for the country's public health system and strengthens the sustainability of the regulated Colombian market.
In addition to economic success, Coljuegos' management has placed unprecedented emphasis on protecting legality within the market. The official detailed that more than 10,000 illegal gaming elements have been seized, and nearly 15,000 units have been destroyed to ensure that these assets do not return to criminal circuits. In the digital environment, the fight against clandestinity has resulted in requests to block almost 42,000 websites operating without proper authorization, a massive action aimed at cleaning up the iGaming ecosystem and protecting users from fraudulent platforms that offer no guarantees.
The summit, which brought together delegations from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Argentina, and Puerto Rico, served as a stage to reaffirm Colombia's role as a regional leader in regulation and oversight. For the president of Coljuegos, the combination of efficient collection and a frontal fight against criminal structures is what has allowed the industry to become one of the most solid pillars of the social economy in the country. This approach not only ensures the integrity of the entertainment offering but also transforms chance into tangible resources destined for the well-being and health of citizens.
