Colombia land-based gaming gave $103M to health in 2025
Casinos and bingo halls have established themselves as the cornerstone of revenue collection for Coljuegos, representing 39% of the total industry. The regulator attributes the 9.3% growth to a "relentless" oversight strategy and the modernization of the offer with virtual betting.
The sector of localized games in Colombia reaffirmed its strategic role in financing the subsidized health system. According to the latest report from Coljuegos, casinos and bingo halls transferred an estimated total of COP 378.268 billion (USD 103 million) as monopoly rents during the 2025 fiscal year.
This contribution represents an increase of 9.3% compared to 2024, consolidating physical games as the segment with the highest contribution to the State, with nearly COP 33 billion additional generated in the last year.
Record oversight and fight against the illegal market
Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos, emphasized that this financial performance is directly linked to the offensive against unauthorized operations. During 2025, the entity carried out 95 control actions in 15 departments, achieving a historic figure of seizures: 3,047 illegal gaming items removed from the market.
"This increase in revenue collection would not have been possible without our relentless strategy against illegality," stated Hincapié, highlighting that territorial control is the foundation to protect legal operators who today total nearly 109,000 slot machines in more than 3,700 authorized establishments.
Innovation and projections for 2026
To maintain this upward trend, Coljuegos is betting on product diversification in physical venues. The regulator expects that the implementation of Virtual Sports Race Betting (ACDV) will revitalize the offer and attract new profiles of bettors to physical locations.
Likewise, the entity projects a positive impact through initiatives such as "Machines for Peace", aimed at continuing to formalize the sector and optimizing transfers to the health of the most vulnerable populations. With these results, Colombia begins 2026 reaffirming a management model where strict regulation and technological innovation drive the sustainability of the industry.
