Lotería del Risaralda resumes its draws after the earthquake
The Risaralda Lottery resumed its weekly draws after the earthquake on August 10, which had left its headquarters severely damaged and forced the interruption of its activities. On August 21, the entity held the draw corresponding to August 14, a step that marked the formal restart of its operation.
The return was possible thanks to a support network. Coljuegos specified that the National Council of Games of Chance had issued an agreement to enable the postponement of draws due to the seismic emergency, while the Risaralda Lottery signed an agreement with the Manizales Lottery to use its facilities. To return to normal without setbacks, the calendar will maintain a one-week shift over five consecutive draws.
The entity's manager, Bibiana Garcés González, thanked the neighboring lottery for opening the doors of its draw vault and highlighted the response from the public and the sales force, who went out to sell tickets in Bolívar Plaza and on the streets despite the situation. She also acknowledged the support of distributors and the governor of Risaralda, Juan Diego Patiño, in the effort to sustain the activity and help the commercial network recover after the disaster.
