Medellín Lottery: 2025 best year in sales & health contributions
The Medellín Lottery closed 2025 with a balance that confirms its leadership within the Colombian market of games of chance. The performance of its various business lines allowed it to reach record figures both in sales and in transfers of resources to the health system, reaffirming the social role of the entity.
The highest volume came from the traditional lottery, which ended the year with sales of COP177.013 billion, equivalent to about US$47 million. The result not only implied growth of nearly COP2.5 billion compared to 2024, but also repositioned the Medellín Lottery as the highest-grossing lottery in the country in this segment.
Antioquia leads the chance market
The most outstanding performance was in the Permanent Bets game, known as chance. Only in the department of Antioquia, sales reached COP596.123 billion during 2025, consolidating the region as the main market for this product nationwide.
Added to this result was the Immediate Prize Incentive, operated by Rediapuestas S.A.S. under the GANA brand, which recorded sales of COP46.545 billion. Together, these figures explain why Antioquia remains the department with the highest activity in territorial games in Colombia.
Sustained growth in instant games
Within the entity’s portfolio, instant games also showed positive evolution. Raspa&Listo, the proprietary product of this type developed by the Medellín Lottery and unique in its category within the country, reached national sales of COP4.413 billion throughout the year.
More than US$37 million transferred to health
The most relevant impact of the commercial performance was reflected in contributions to the health system. In total, the Medellín Lottery transferred COP140.621 billion during 2025, equivalent to approximately US$37.6 million.
Of that amount, COP100.321 billion was sent to the Nation through ADRES; COP31.484 billion was allocated to the Antioquia Government through the Secretariat of Health and Social Inclusion; and COP8.815 billion was assigned to Colciencias, reinforcing the financing of public policies at different levels.
Prizes and player return
During the same period, the entity reported that it awarded around COP115 billion in prizes corresponding to the traditional lottery, incentives, and promotions. That figure represented more than 65 percent of the amount collected, reflecting a high return to the player within the operating model.
Institutional vision and leadership
The manager of the Medellín Lottery, Néstor Fernando Zuluaga Giraldo, valued the results obtained and highlighted that 2025 ratified the entity’s positioning as the main contributor of resources derived from the monopoly of games of chance in Colombia. According to him, the leadership in sales of territorial games in Antioquia was key to reaching these levels of transfer and sustaining the social impact of the model.
With these results, the Medellín Lottery closes a historic year and projects itself as one of the strongest players in the Colombian regulated ecosystem, combining commercial growth, prize payments, and direct contribution to the financing of public health.
