Risaralda Lottery trains its sellers to promote legal gambling
The Risaralda Lottery carried out a training session aimed at a group of its ticket sellers, with the objective of strengthening the importance of legality in games of chance in the department. This initiative is part of the schedule of the legality and oversight program that the entity carries out together with the Risaralda Governor's Office, seeking for the lottery sellers to become the main ambassadors of legal gaming in the region.
During the training, fundamental topics were addressed such as the regulatory framework governing games of chance in Colombia, the importance of promoting only legal games, the allocation of the funds collected for the health sector, and the crimes associated with illegal betting. The session was conducted in a didactic and interactive manner, allowing attendees to actively participate and resolve doubts about the current procedures and regulations.
The legality and oversight team of the Risaralda Lottery was responsible for guiding the first part of the training, providing key information so that sellers can identify counterfeit tickets and advise buyers on the importance of purchasing legal products. Sandra Lucía Ospina Rincón, the entity’s commercial manager, highlighted the relevance of this type of meeting: “Today we met with the lottery sellers of Risaralda, raising awareness about legality in games of chance, giving them tools to identify a counterfeit lottery ticket and how they, from their role, can contribute so that buyers do so legally.
They are the ones who represent us throughout the department of Risaralda.” A notable component of the session was the intervention of Captain Julián Rozo, director of the Criminal Investigation Section (SIJIN) of Risaralda, who presented relevant figures on the impact of illegal betting in the region. Additionally, he explained the legal and social implications of this scourge, emphasizing the fundamental role that lottery sellers play in the fight against illegality.
The training concluded with special raffles, as an incentive to encourage the active participation of sellers in these academic spaces. The Risaralda Lottery announced that it will continue holding new training sessions for its sales force, with the purpose of covering the entire population of sellers throughout the department, thus reinforcing the commitment to legality and transparency in games of chance.
