Altenar and Gran Madrid renew their sports betting partnership
Altenar has extended its long-term alliance with Gran Madrid Casino Online, the flagship online betting brand operated by Gran Madrid, in an agreement that ensures the continuity of the provider's sports betting technology in the regulated Spanish market. Since the beginning of the alliance, the operator has combined the provider's technology with its consolidated position in the Spanish gaming market, with access to comprehensive market coverage, trading capabilities, and localization features designed for regulated jurisdictions. This joint effort resulted, according to the companies, in a 21 percent year-on-year increase in sports betting turnover during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.
Antonis Karakousis, COO of Altenar, valued the extension of the agreement and stated that the collaboration built a solid relationship based on trust, performance, and a shared commitment to offering a quality sports betting experience to Spanish players. The executive noted that Spain remains one of Europe's most mature regulated markets and expressed the intention to support the operator's future growth in both online and retail channels.
For his part, José Félix Herreros, Country Manager of Gran Madrid, stated that the renewal reflects the success of the collaboration and highlighted that the provider's technology, product innovation, and knowledge of regulated markets helped strengthen the operator's sports betting offering and meet the expectations of its customers. The renewal also reinforces Altenar's presence in Southern Europe, as part of its strategy to support regulated operators with scalable solutions.
