Panama iGaming grows 12%; exceeds $2.13B between Jan-Sept
The gaming sector in Panama maintained its upward momentum during the first nine months of 2025, establishing itself as one of the most dynamic entertainment activities in the country. According to figures from the Gaming Control Board and the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), the total amount wagered reached US$2.130 billion, representing a 12% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
The sector's performance does not include sales from the National Charity Lottery, which recorded US$623 million in gross revenue between January and September. However, the institution reported a 12% year-on-year decline in September, keeping the year's total close to the full result of 2024.
Slot machines dominate in-person operations
Type A slot machines continue to lead the country's physical activity, with US$1.580 billion wagered during the period.
Casino tables, operational only in hotels in the capital with more than 300 rooms, generated US$108.8 million.
Other in-person segments also contributed significant figures:
- Presidente Remón Racetrack: more than US$21 million
- Bingo halls: more than US$4 million
- In-person sports betting: US$13.3 million
The online channel marks the fastest growth
The most significant expansion came from digital gaming. Internet betting — including electronic lottery — reached US$407.5 million between January and September, well above the US$240 million reported in the same period of 2024.
The leap of the online channel confirms its growing weight within the Panamanian ecosystem and reflects a regional trend in which remote gaming is consolidating as one of the main drivers of the market.
