Panama to host the Ibero-American Gaming Summit in 2027
The 2027 edition of the Ibero-American Gaming Summit already has its venue and dates confirmed. The event will be held on May 4 and 5 in Panama City, in an eleventh edition that will bring together operators, regulators, and industry specialists, with the Panama Gaming Control Board, an entity attached to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as the institutional host.
The organizers highlighted that Panama is one of the most dynamic and consolidated markets in the region. The country's casino and gambling industry reached gross revenues of 2.938 billion dollars, an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous year, with the online segment as the main growth driver. As they pointed out when presenting the venue, this dynamism is part of a broader trend across Ibero-America, with a regulated online gaming market in Latin America that, driven by increasingly consolidated regulatory frameworks in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Argentina, is expected to reach 6.75 billion dollars in annual revenues by 2027, compared to the 1.51 billion recorded in 2023, according to VIXIO data.
Some projections cited by the organization place the market volume at up to 8.71 billion dollars by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate close to 11.3 percent. Globally, the gaming industry, combining the land-based and digital segments, exceeded 642 billion dollars in 2025, consolidating Latin America as one of the fastest-growing regions in the sector worldwide.
The Ibero-American Gaming Summit, which returns to Panama next year, held ten previous editions in Madrid in 2014 and 2015, in Mexico City in 2016, in Cartagena de Indias in 2017, in Medellín in 2018, in Lima in 2019, in Panama City in 2023, in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2024, again in Lima in 2025 and, most recently, in Bogotá in 2026. The event is organized by JAK Comunicación.
The organization stated that the event has consolidated itself as a reference forum for the sector globally, with the participation of most Ibero-American gaming regulators, and recalled that the summit was conceived out of the need for a debate platform that would allow the exchange of knowledge and experiences to boost a key sector in the economy of the participating countries and strengthen existing ties.
