Betano crowns itself as the leading sportsbook in Peru in Q3 2025
The online betting ecosystem in Peru closed the third quarter of 2025 with a clear redistribution of traffic among the main operators, according to the latest analysis by Apuesta Legal Perú based on Similarweb data.
Although the total volume of the sector remains stable — between 75 and 80 million monthly visits — competition for user preference has intensified, displacing historical positions in the popularity ranking.
In this scenario, Betano reached 18.32 million visits in September, equivalent to 24.1% of the total traffic in the Peruvian market, positioning it as the most visited betting site in the country.
This figure represents a turning point in the market: for the first time, an international operator surpasses a local brand at the top of the Peruvian digital ecosystem, displacing Apuesta Total, which had maintained leadership for several consecutive quarters.
The study highlights that this variation is not due to growth in the betting audience, but to a change in the preferences of existing users, who are migrating to platforms with better technological experience, more competitive promotions, and stronger loyalty strategies.
According to the report, the leading operators concentrate more than 80% of the country’s total traffic, reflecting a more mature market where the battle is no longer to attract new players, but to retain and consolidate current ones.
At the regional level, Betano also maintains a dominant presence. In Chile, it ranks among the three platforms with the highest traffic despite the market’s regulatory uncertainty. In Brazil, the operator reported 568.5 million visits in September, representing 22.1% of the national total, consolidating itself as the strongest brand in the largest betting market in Latin America.
For the analysts at Apuesta Legal Perú, Betano’s expansion is explained by a strategy focused on content localization and brand investment. Its partnership with sporting events, club sponsorships, and communication adapted to the Latin American consumer have allowed it to quickly climb positions against local competitors with strong roots.
The report concludes that the Peruvian market has reached a stage of digital maturity, where operators must focus their efforts on retention, personalization, and added value, rather than on the mass acquisition of new users.
The key, experts warn, will be to offer integrated experiences, reliable technology, and an entertainment proposal consistent with the expectations of an increasingly demanding audience.
With Betano’s leadership in September, Peru enters a new competitive stage, where international and local brands will measure strength not only by traffic volume but by who manages to maintain the trust and loyalty of bettors in the long term.
