El Salvador adds Sharp Vision to monitor online gambling

El Salvador's National Charity Lottery (LNB) will observe the betting market from both inside and out simultaneously. The organization has finalized an agreement with the French firm Sharp Vision to incorporate a technological platform that supervises authorized operators and, in parallel, tracks offerings operating without permission.
The system relies on three pillars. The first is real-time monitoring of licensees' activity, measuring how much is played and flagging behaviors that deviate from the norm or pose a risk. The second targets the illegal market: the tool identifies unauthorized offerings and gathers evidence that can later be used in sanctioning procedures. The third is administrative and involves digitizing the application and granting of permits, with the aim of shortening processing times and ensuring traceability for each procedure.
Javier Milián, president of the LNB and also of Cibelae, framed the decision as player protection and highlighted the growing importance of the organization: he stated that they are becoming the first regulator in Latin America to operate such a tool, which, in his opinion, solidifies their position as a regional benchmark in the supervision of betting and gaming operators.
On the other hand, the contract holds symbolic value. It is Sharp Vision's first operation in Latin America, a French company that develops technology to monitor gaming markets. Its CEO, Cyril Casanova, described it as an important stage for the company's international growth and a confirmation that their expertise serves regulators. Ange-François Demartini, Commercial Director, emphasized the practical objective: to stop pages operating without permission and provide the LNB with a more complete view of the market to enable action.
The LNB is the state body that administers the Salvadoran lottery and supervises the country's gambling, including sports betting and online gaming. The commitment to an external surveillance platform marks a recurring trend in the region: several Latin American regulators have concluded that merely overseeing licensees is no longer sufficient if a clandestine circuit, which no one measures, operates alongside it.
