El Salvador's national lottery celebrates 156 years
El Salvador's National Charity Lottery commemorated its 156th anniversary by reviewing its main management milestones and holding LOTRA Draw number 457 as part of the celebrations. The institution highlighted that, over more than a century and a half of history, it has consolidated a model that combines responsible entertainment with the redistribution of resources to social assistance programs.
The entity emphasized that the anniversary finds it in a stage of strong international projection, supported by its active role in the Ibero-American Corporation of State Lotteries and Betting. In the statement released through that network, the Salvadoran lottery reviewed the achievements that position it as a benchmark among state lotteries in Ibero-America, including holding the presidency of Cibelae for the third consecutive period, a recognition of its regional leadership. It also highlighted obtaining Level 2 in the World Lottery Association's Responsible Gaming Certification, which validates the alignment of its operations with international industry standards and best practices.
At the local level, the lottery's impact is channeled primarily through the "Juntos Hacemos Beneficencia" (Together We Do Charity) program. Through this health and social action initiative, medical brigades were implemented throughout Salvadoran territory, offering general consultations, dental care, breast ultrasounds, medication delivery, and preventive examinations for the most vulnerable sectors. The sustainability and social investment strategy also includes co-financing key projects for the country's development, with an emphasis on national sports, early childhood protection, and support for various community causes.
Before the commemorative draw, the institution organized a dialogue and interview session with representatives of its main strategic partners and allied institutions. The meeting brought together authorities from the sports and institutional fields, including Juan José Gómez, administrative manager of the National Institute of Sports of El Salvador; Armando Bruni, president of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador; Rodrigo Colorado, president of the Salvadoran Sailing Federation; Jamin Ventura, president of the Salvadoran Aquatic Sports Federation; Marianna Montes, head of international affairs and cooperation for the Office of the First Lady; and Lisselot Troconis, executive director of the Gente Ayudando Gente organization.
With this anniversary, the National Charity Lottery of El Salvador reaffirmed its dual commitment to deepen the modernization of its gaming options and ensure transparency, with the aim of continuing to transform revenue into social welfare and public health.
