Fifa awards Stats Perform official data/streaming for betting
FIFA took a key step in professionalizing the sports data ecosystem by closing a multi-year agreement with Stats Perform, which will become its first official partner for the distribution of information and streaming for betting purposes. The agreement grants exclusive rights to official data and live video feeds from a wide portfolio of competitions organized by the world’s leading football governing body.
The scope of the agreement includes some of the most important events on the international calendar. Among them is the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with an expanded format of 48 teams and a total of 104 matches. Also included in the package are the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, the 2028 Futsal World Cup, the U-20 World Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup, as well as thousands of annual matches from tournaments of FIFA member associations.
A new standard for data and video in betting
Under the agreement, Stats Perform’s RunningBall platform will be responsible for exclusively collecting and distributing FIFA’s official betting data to licensed operators worldwide. This information will be used for modeling, trading, market settlement, and live product management within betting platforms.
At the same time, the provider’s Opta brand will supply official player statistics, advanced data, real-time scores, and match tracking tools, also exclusively for authorized betting houses. Additionally, there is the possibility of offering live match broadcasts for betting in certain territories, including the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
The agreement also includes an integrity component. Stats Perform’s specialized team will collaborate with FIFA’s integrity unit to monitor competitions and content distributed through FIFA+, the organization’s official streaming and content platform.
Greater global visibility and focus on innovation
From Stats Perform, CEO Carl Mergele highlighted that the alliance will expand access to official football content and enhance the experience of fans and bettors worldwide. He emphasized that incorporating FIFA competitions into Opta, RunningBall products, and AI-supported streaming services represents a qualitative leap for their offering.
On FIFA’s side, Commercial Director Romy Gai noted that partnering with a leading sports data provider opens new opportunities to develop official products that benefit both the game and its global audience.
With this agreement, FIFA joins the list of major sports organizations that trust Stats Perform as their exclusive data partner, alongside entities such as Spain’s LaLiga, the WTA in tennis, and FIBA in basketball. The alliance reinforces a clear industry trend: the centralization and control of official data as a strategic asset in the global sports and betting business.
