New Jersey: iGaming now leads sector revenue

The gaming market in New Jersey closed November with figures that confirm a structural transformation that is now hard to ignore. According to data published by the state's Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), the sector's total revenues — including physical casinos, racetracks, and their digital partners — reached 636.2 million dollars, representing a year-on-year growth of 14.2% compared to November 2024.

Beyond the aggregate figure, the distribution of revenues again highlights the growing weight of online channels. Internet gaming generated 253 million dollars in November, with an increase of 18.2%, consolidating another month in which this segment outperformed traditional casinos. Physical venues recorded 236.8 million dollars in “casino win”, a more moderate advance of 5.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Sports betting also provided a significant boost. The gross betting revenue reached 146.3 million dollars, representing a 23% year-on-year increase, confirming an especially favorable month for this vertical.

The strong monthly performance is clearly reflected in the year-to-date total. Between January and November, total gaming revenues in New Jersey amounted to 6.38 billion dollars, a 10.4% increase over the same period in 2024. In this breakdown, digital leadership is again evident:

From a fiscal perspective, the sector’s growth also translated into higher revenues for the state. In November alone, New Jersey collected 93.4 million dollars in gaming taxes, bringing the year-to-date tax revenue to 794.2 million dollars.

Overall, the figures reinforce a trend that has repeated throughout 2025: online gaming not only grows faster but also consolidates itself as the main driver of market expansion, while physical casinos maintain stable growth. All this occurs alongside an environment of increased regulatory attention, with the DGE promoting responsible gaming initiatives and control actions throughout the year, in an effort to balance economic growth and sector oversight.
