Pix, wallets, and AI dominate the agenda at SBC Summit Americas 2026
The upcoming SBC Summit Americas will focus on one of the hottest discussions in Latin American iGaming: how the new generation of instant payments, digital wallets, and AI-based tools are changing the relationship between operators and players. The Payments and Technology in Latin America session will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale.
A focus that is no longer secondary
For Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, the region is experiencing a cultural shift that is impacting the gaming industry. Instant payments, fluid apps, and frictionless digital experiences are already part of the daily behavior of the Latin American consumer, and that standard immediately transfers to sports betting and casino operators. Payments, user experience, and engagement, he stated, are no longer separate discussions.
The session is part of a conference agenda distributed across six stages, which will alternate panels dedicated to North America and Latin America over two days. The agenda will cover sports betting, casino, affiliation, leadership, player protection, and regulation, in addition to the technological focus that structures the entire summit.
Panels that dissect the payments landscape
The panel Wallet Wars: Reshaping the LatAm Landscape will analyze how solutions like Mercado Pago and Rappi are redrawing regional mobile commerce. Juan Flores, CEO of Payefy, Mariola de la Piedra Quelle, CMO of Grupo Gelsa, and Carlos Sandoval, Chairman and CEO of Apuestería, will discuss whether operators should integrate with these consolidated platforms or move towards their own financial services tied to the gaming ecosystem.
The PIX: Instant Payments panel will focus on the Brazilian case, with Rony Silva, CTO of Aposta Ganha, Paulo Chastinet, CAO of Segurobet, Marc Crean, CPO of Todos Querem Jogar, and Thomas Carvalhaes, online gaming expert. The conversation will revolve around how Pix redefined expectations of speed and convenience and how operators can incorporate emerging features like Pix Automático, a key way to foster loyalty and reduce friction in deposits and withdrawals.
Another panel, Tech Titans: How Innovation Powers the New Digital Era, will include insights from Javier Troncoso, CEO and co-founder of InsightPlay.AI, and Pedro Landa, COO of Miela Digital. The debate will aim to understand how online gaming, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence are pushing the region to position itself as a global technology hub, without neglecting the brakes of scalability, infrastructure, and regulation.
From payments to the omnichannel journey
The block will continue with the session Building a Unified Casino Experience in an Omnichannel World, where David Fica, CEO of Landvegas, and Juan Ignacio Juanena, COO of Azar Latino, will review how to unify payments, loyalty programs, customer data, and user experience between retail and digital channels. The idea is that operators no longer compete only on product, but on the quality of the player's complete journey.
The payments agenda will extend to the exhibition floor, with the presence of PayNearMe, Paysafe, Signature Payments, and ElenPAY, and will be complemented by the Payments and Fintech Walking Tour, the Payments & Fintech Exchange, the Payments in LATAM Briefing, and the Crypto Briefing. SBC Summit Americas will take place from June 9 to 11 in Fort Lauderdale and once again confirms that, for Latin America and emerging markets, the intersection of instant payments, digital wallets, and artificial intelligence is currently one of the levers that most quickly determines the competitiveness of operators.
