Cipriani Group trains new croupiers for Punta del Este resort
Construction of the Cipriani Ocean Resort, Club Residences & Casino Punta del Este is progressing on schedule, and the investment group has begun the selection process to fill operational vacancies in its gaming room. Through an initiative called Talent Development, the company is seeking young people aged 18 to 26 residing in the Maldonado department to professionally train them for the role of croupier.
The program is supported by the Maldonado Municipality, which views this proposal as a pathway to high-quality employment for local youth. The first informational session will take place on Monday, March 23, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in the Campus Conference Room, where Casino Director Marcelo Silva will detail career projections and training stages.
Training details and selection process
Technical training for selected candidates will last four months, from June to September. To facilitate attendance, daily four-hour sessions will be organized in two shifts. Participants will receive direct benefits such as uniforms, study materials, refreshments, and free public transportation.
The admission process requires prior registration by email due to limited spaces. After the initial informational talk, applicants must pass the following phases:
- Completion of a simple-level math test.
- Execution of a psychometric test.
- Obtaining a professional croupier certificate upon satisfactory completion of four months of instruction.
This call represents the first phase of personnel recruitment, as the group plans to hold future meetings to cover other service areas within the hotel complex.
A US$ 450 million project set to transform Punta del Este
The Cipriani Ocean Resort, designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, is poised to be the most significant tourism development in Latin America, located on the site of the former Hotel San Rafael. With a total investment of US$ 450 million, the complex is scheduled to open its first phase in October 2026.
This initial opening phase will include:
- A state-of-the-art casino with a restaurant, bar, and VIP areas.
- A 2,550-square-meter event center and an exclusive beach club.
- Over 300 gaming stations designed with an aesthetic that blends Italian nautical style with art deco elements.
The resort will also offer 17,000 square meters of premium amenities, ranging from podcast recording studios and movie theaters to sports facilities for disciplines such as squash and pickleball. In the residential area, the project features luxury units up to 810 square meters with direct views of the Atlantic Ocean.
