Play'n GO launches Ghost Booster with a guaranteed minimum bonus

Ghost Booster

Play'n GO has set a floor for the bonus in its new slot. Ghost Booster! GO Guaranteed is a supernatural-themed slot that connects three elements: a jackpot wheel, a guaranteed minimum, and the task of collecting coins, all set amidst rolling hills and a haunted mansion, with neon lights and a night sky above the reels.

The character orchestrating the scene is Wispy the Ghost, a blue and white spirit that floats alongside the reels, collecting coins it finds, while the grid lights up with Coin symbols, Collector symbols, and jackpot markers. The color palette leans more towards cartoon than horror, with a purple frame on the reels, trees, and a cemetery gate behind the mansion. The company has not confirmed if the title belongs to a series and presents it, for now, as a standalone piece.

The grid features five reels and four rows, with 20 fixed paylines, and Coin and Collector symbols at the heart of it all. Coins can be collected for prizes or to advance features, while Collector symbols activate the game's connected systems, meaning the paths to bonuses coexist with the slot's core mechanics without replacing them.

There are two distinct mechanisms running in parallel during the base game. The Wheel of Spooks Jackpot feature is triggered by the coins Wispy collects and awards a single instant prize from an exclusive jackpot wheel. The GO Guaranteed Meter, on the other hand, remains active throughout the base game and increases with results brought exclusively by Collector symbols. When six or more Coin symbols activate the Hold and Spin bonus and the round ends below what the meter had accumulated, the prize is raised to that guaranteed minimum. In addition, there's a separate progression linked to the ghostly characters, which adds interactions with the wheel as collection milestones are met.

Magnus Wallentin, Play'n GO's Games Ambassador, described the process as taking ideas from slots already familiar to players and connecting them until the whole functions with its own identity. He noted that the guaranteed aspect is what he always returns to, because the meter accumulates visibly during the base game, and the bonus starts with something already behind it before it even begins.

This guaranteed minimum is the commercially interesting part of the launch, as it addresses the most common complaint about Hold and Spin bonuses: that the round pays less than what the previous accumulation promised. Resolving this frustration with a visible floor changes the perception of the bonus without altering the base game's math, a design adjustment that the provider is also applying during the peak Halloween season, the period on the calendar where studios concentrate their seasonal releases and where differentiation often comes down to theme alone.
