Brazilian BetTech founded in 2021 specialised in payments and technology for iGaming, with projected TPV of R$50 billion in 2025, partially acquired by BS2 bank and winner of the BiS SiGMA Awards 2026 in Best Payment Method.
## A Brazilian techfin that pivoted into BetTech Paag was born in 2021 as a payments-oriented fintech and progressively migrated toward a techfin profile focused on technology, until consolidating its current positioning as a BetTech: a tech company exclusively focused on the betting and iGaming sector. The operation is led by João Fraga as CEO and Bruno Fraga as CTO, with headquarters in Minas Gerais. The internal trajectory combines fintech experience with deep knowledge of the Brazilian betting market, a mix that explains why the product incorporates both financial rails and compliance and player-experience modules under a single architecture. ## Partial acquisition by BS2 and new institutional structure In April 2025 Brazilian digital bank BS2 announced the acquisition of a stake in Paag, with contractual provision for total acquisition within up to three years. BS2 had been operating indirectly in the betting segment by processing Pix transactions for payment facilitators, and the Paag operation seeks to capture value at the final link in the chain. The move gives Paag consolidated banking backing, access to credit, scale payment infrastructure (BS2 declares R$232.3 billion in 2024 volume) and the institutional solidity to compete as a regulated counterpart for large operators. For 2025 Paag itself projected closing with TPV of R$50 billion, a figure that places it within the group of Brazilian PSPs with relevant scale. ## Products covering the full cycle of payments and compliance The Paag stack was built around the Brazilian player in a regulated market. Paag Payments is the core gateway product, candidate for the Payment Solution of the Year Award at SBC Summit Latin America and winner of the BiS SiGMA Awards 2026 in Best Payment Method. The stack also includes a KYC module with the highest declared conversion rate in the market, anti-fraud, AML implemented in April 2025 with more than 130 million transactions validated with the Central Bank of Brazil, and an authentication module. Pix integration is optimised for instant deposits and withdrawals, a central piece given the method is widely adopted in Brazil and drastically simplifies payment infrastructure versus the traditional approach of multiple integrations with different success rates. ## Institutional positioning in the Brazilian regulated ecosystem Paag is a member of ANJL (Associação Nacional de Jogos Legais), an institutional decision that reinforces its positioning as a regulated provider within the SPA framework. The company maintains visible presence at sector events such as ICE London, SBC Summit Latin America, SBC Summit Rio, BiS SiGMA, and supports initiatives like Regula Bet, a portal specialised in Brazilian betting regulation launched in November 2024. For an iGaming operator in Brazil that needs a payments provider with deep knowledge of the SPA framework, capacity to process Pix at high conversion, a KYC and AML suite adapted to the regulated context and banking backing that ensures operational continuity, Paag combines the technical, regulatory and institutional pieces into a single commercial counterpart.
