Paag: Brazilian Bettor Behavior Patterns, Q3 2025
Paag, a technology and payments company, presented a comprehensive analysis of the behavior of Brazilian bettors in the third quarter of 2025, based on transactions made through platforms that use its payment system, which represent approximately 30% of the national market.
The report identifies clear trends in bettors' habits: the highest volume of bets is concentrated between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., representing 38% of daily transactions, while the highest average value per operation is observed in the morning period, between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The afternoon maintains a balance between value and frequency, and the early morning records the lowest activity. According to João Fraga, CEO of Paag, “these patterns help to understand the operational rhythm of the sector and to plan performance and responsibility strategies.”
The research also shows that the beginning of the month concentrates the highest value bets, while the second half, especially between the 16th and 23rd, presents the highest volume of operations. Bets up to R$ 50 accounted for 71% of transactions, although 80% of the total financial value came from operations exceeding R$ 100.
The 25 to 49 age group concentrates 80% of the operations, with the 25 to 34 group standing out for having the highest average ticket. Regionally, São Paulo leads the volume of bets, followed by Bahia and Sergipe in per capita participation, while Paraná, Santa Catarina, and the Central-West register the highest average tickets in the country.
Paag also highlighted a significant improvement in the quality of records and processed data, reflecting greater reliability in analytical metrics. The report concludes that the third quarter of 2025 reaffirmed the growth and maturity of the betting market in Brazil, with more predictable behavior, greater nighttime participation, and more efficient use of data.
Additionally, a complementary study by GMattos noted that 93% of the amounts deposited in betting houses return to players as prizes, evidencing a dynamic financial sector increasingly integrated into the national economy.
Nevertheless, industry specialists emphasize the importance of promoting responsible gambling, reminding that bets should be considered as entertainment, not as a form of investment.
