The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is the world largest all-suite hotel by suite count, with more than 7,000 suites across The Venetian and The Palazzo towers, an 11,150 square meter casino with gaming tables including blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette and poker, the Venetian Poker Room as one of the Strip highest-reputation poker rooms, sports betting, the Sands Expo Convention Center with more than 225,000 square meters of convention space, indoor canals with gondolas, celebrity restaurants and the Grand Canal Shoppes entertainment venue. It operates 24 hours under NGCB license. The Venetian was conceived and built by magnate Sheldon Adelson, founder of Sands Corporation, and opened in 1999 as the Strip-scale replica of Venice: canals, gondolas, the St. Mark Campanile, the Doge Palace and hand-painted fresco ceilings are its most iconic elements.

Sheldon Adelson was one of the most influential casino magnates of the 21st century: he built the Venetian on the ruins of the historic Sands Hotel where the Rat Pack performed in the 1960s, then replicated the concept in Macau with the Venetian Macao, Parisian Macao and Four Seasons Hotel Macao, turning his company Las Vegas Sands into the world largest casino operator by revenue. The Venetian architecture reproduces at larger than original scale some of Venice most emblematic elements: the 300-meter indoor Grand Canal, Piazza San Marco, the Doge galleries and arched bridges make the Venetian the world most convincing themed casino resort experience. The casino was acquired by private equity firm Apollo Global Management in 2021 after Adelson death, who sold Las Vegas Sands to focus on his Asian operations.
