Santa Fe sports betting bids due March 2
The Santa Fe government confirmed the deadline for companies interested in operating the online vertical. Under a license scheme with no quota limit and a 10-year contract, the province seeks to formalize the market and guarantee a minimum fee of 15% on the GGR.
The province of Santa Fe enters the decisive phase for the regulation of its online sports betting. The Social Assistance Fund – Santa Fe Lottery announced that on March 2 at 12:00 PM it will close the reception of proposals for Public Tender No. 104/2025. The process, which has an international scope, will have its bid opening event on March 3.
This tender process stands out for its inclusive approach: unlike other jurisdictions, there will be no limited number of licenses. The State will grant permits to all companies that pass the rigorous administrative, technical, and economic evaluations established in the tender specifications.
Key conditions for operators
The regulatory framework establishes specific financial and operational requirements to guarantee market solvency:
- Fee and Duration: The awardees must pay a monthly fee not less than 15% of the gross gaming revenue (GGR). The contract will have a term of 10 years, with an optional extension of 24 months.
- Strategic Alliances: International bidders are required to participate under the modality of Temporary Unions (UT) with local partners.
- Capital Requirements: Minimum net worth thresholds have been set, ranging from USD 2 million for national individuals up to USD 120 million for international corporations.
- Implementation: Once the license is granted, companies will have a maximum period of 180 days to launch their platforms.
Transparency and social purposes
With this tender, the Santa Fe government aims to eradicate illegal gambling and ensure that the activity operates under strict state supervision. The Province will maintain unrestricted and real-time access to gaming systems to audit bets, prizes, and fee settlements.
The resources generated will be managed by the Santa Fe Lottery, with the objective of strengthening the financing of public policies and social programs, thus consolidating the role of the gaming industry as a development engine for the province.
