New domain rules and mandatory reports under the LOK in Curacao

The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has taken a firm step towards the professionalization of its jurisdiction by updating its regulatory portal. These changes, framed within the new National Gambling Law (LOK), impose strict controls over domain management, transparency in player claims, and a complete overhaul of the digital seal system.

Domain Management: Total Control via API

One of the most technical and relevant changes is the new Domain Management Manual. From now on, the CGA requires thorough registration, verification, and activation of each operational URL.

Incident Reporting: Zero Tolerance for Opacity

In compliance with Article 5.10 of the LOK, incident and player claim reporting is no longer optional or manual via emails:

  1. Incident Module: Operators must report "without delay" any technical failure or relevant event directly on the portal.
  2. B2C Claims: The periodic submission of reports on player disputes, categorized by status and reason, is formalized, reinforcing the protection policy introduced in mid-2025.

The New Color Code: Farewell to the Orange Seal

The CGA has simplified its validation seal system to avoid market confusion. Operators have until January 30, 2026 to update their websites under this new color hierarchy:

Seal Color - License Status

Corporate Responsibility

The CGA emphasized that access management to the portal is the exclusive responsibility of the operator. Any action carried out by an authorized user that has public or regulatory impact will be directly attributed to the licensed company.

With these measures, Curaçao aims to shake off the label of "lax jurisdiction" to compete directly on supervisory standards with European regulators, guaranteeing full traceability from the domain to the operator’s behavior.
