JHSF to transform Enjoy Punta del Este with a $400 million investment

After finalizing the acquisition of the Enjoy Punta del Este Casino & Resort complex for 160 million dollars, the Brazilian real estate group JHSF has raised the stakes for Uruguay's main resort town. Company representatives met with the President of the Republic, Yamandú Orsi, to present the strategic guidelines for an ambitious redevelopment plan that will involve an additional investment of 400 million dollars. This outlay primarily aims to transform the iconic establishment into a high-end mixed-use ecosystem, elevating hospitality and retail standards in the region.

The work schedule presented to the Executive Branch is expected to be executed within an estimated period of four to five years. The roadmap will begin with a critical initial phase focused on the comprehensive renovation of the hotel, the modernization of the casino rooms, and the development of a luxury shopping center. According to the investors, the complex will remain operational throughout the construction process, ensuring the continuity of activities and, fundamentally, the job stability of the 1,000 employees currently on Enjoy's payroll.

A Luxury Ecosystem with the Fasano Seal and Exclusive Retail

The heart of the transformation lies in the integration of globally prestigious brands. The project includes the incorporation of a Hotel Fasano, JHSF's flagship brand known for its excellence in premium services, which will coexist with the renovated resort facilities. The shopping center, for its part, will initially feature 50 stores and restaurants with a predominantly international profile. Investors revealed that the mall will house luxury brands that currently have no presence in Uruguay or the region, which will position Punta del Este as a new hub of attraction for high-net-worth tourism.

In addition to entertainment and hospitality areas, the master plan includes the development of exclusive residential units. This vision seeks to create an environment where real estate, gastronomy, and retail complement each other in a sophisticated way, a model that the company has already successfully implemented in its main assets in Brazil. In this way, the former Conrad/Enjoy will cease to be solely a gaming and accommodation center to become a nerve center of integrated experiences.

Global Expansion and Focus on Recurring Revenue

Augusto Martins, CEO of JHSF, highlighted in statements to the local press that this operation represents much more than the purchase of an emblematic building. For the Brazilian firm, Uruguay is a key destination within its international expansion strategy, placing it at the same level as its investments in iconic locations such as New York, Miami, London, Sardinia, and Milan. The commitment to Punta del Este reinforces the group's positioning in the development of assets that generate recurring revenue through a sophisticated and consistent hospitality offering.

The redevelopment of the complex at Parada 4 of Playa Mansa aligns with a long-term vision that seeks to de-seasonalize tourism in the east, offering retail and gastronomic services that attract visitors throughout the year. With the approval of the national government and the backing of 400 million dollars in capital, JHSF is preparing to lead a new era in Uruguayan luxury tourism, transforming the physiognomy of one of South America's most famous resorts.
