Professional Journey
What did you dream of becoming as a child before entering this industry?
I dreamed of being independent, of building my own path and making an impact. The form changed over the years, but the essence remains the same.
What was your first paid job?
My first job was with a Brazilian airline. It taught me the importance of listening, supporting people, solving problems and understanding that behind every person there is a story. I worked in sales and was the only one in the role, dealing daily with families in difficult situations, professionals who needed to travel urgently, and people with expectations. I had to resolve situations in minutes, and every decision had an impact. It was an experience I truly loved and one that shaped me deeply.
And your first job in the betting/gaming industry?
My first formal experience was in the commercial area of a gaming company. From day one, I understood it was a challenging, competitive environment, but also full of opportunities for growth when approached with ethics and passion.
What do you enjoy most about this industry?
The dynamics, the speed at which everything evolves, and the opportunity to connect markets, cultures and people. It is an industry that demands constant adaptation, creativity and resilience. It keeps you active, alert and moving forward.
Which current trends will shape the future of betting over the next five years?
First, stricter and more professional regulation, especially in emerging markets such as Latin America. This will increase compliance costs, but it will also clean up the market and benefit strong operators and suppliers with clear structures and long-term vision.
Second, strong consolidation. We will see fewer platforms and providers, but larger and more integrated ones. Operational efficiency will be critical, and aggregators and one-stop-shop solutions will play a central role in reducing complexity, integration time and costs.
Third, a deep shift toward data-driven and personalized experiences, not only in products but also in CRM, bonuses, engagement and responsible retention strategies.
Fourth, the growth of fast and local content such as crash games, instant games, virtual sports and mobile-first experiences culturally adapted to each market. LATAM, Africa and Asia will continue to lead these trends.
And fifth, greater integration of responsible gaming, AML and risk control tools, not just as legal requirements but as core pillars of sustainable business models.
How do you see the relationship between responsible gaming and sustainable growth?
They are inseparable. There is no long-term growth without strong player protection policies. Taking care of the user means taking care of the future of the business.
What concerns you most about gambling addiction?
That players often seek help too late, or that there are not always enough tools to identify problematic behavior early. The industry must continue investing in prevention, education and proactive monitoring.
Which skills do you consider essential for a leader in this industry?
Fast adaptability.
A global business perspective.
Integrity.
Strong negotiation skills.
Empathy to lead diverse teams.
Emotional strength in high-pressure environments.
If you had to choose a leader who marked your career, who would it be?
Those who believed in me before I fully understood my own potential. People who believe in you leave a lasting mark.
What was the most difficult decision in your career and what did you learn from it?
Leaving a stable position to take on a bigger challenge. I learned that change does not always come in the way we expect, but staying still also has a cost. Many decisions brought valuable personal and professional lessons.
What was the best professional advice you ever received?
“Take care of your name and your relationships. In this industry, your reputation arrives before you do.”
If you had to summarize your leadership philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?
Leadership means supporting, listening and leading by example, even when no one is watching.
If you had not worked in this industry, what other profession would you have chosen?
Something related to sports, communication or international relations. I feel the industry chose me.
